ISCO expands to Arizona and Utah with acquisition
(LOUISVILLE) March 2004 – Just after a February visit from The
President of the United States to ISCO Industries’ Louisville
fabrication facility, ISCO has announced that they have purchased
the Tucson, Arizona and Salt Lake City, Utah branches of Maskell-Robbins.
Maskell-Robbins is a well-respected supplier of polyethylene pipe
(HDPE), fittings, fabrication and fusion services. These Utah and
Arizona facilities were established in the early 80’s, and have
developed a strong customer base over the past 20 years.
Maskell principals are calling ISCO Industries purchase of the two
branches a good fit for all involved. Terms of the sale were not
disclosed. ISCO is one of the nation’s largest distributors and
manufacturers of HDPE piping products. They now have 15 stocking
locations with this Rocky Mountain expansion.
“Salt Lake and Tucson, along with our recent move into the Denver
area, geographically fills in the gap we had after our expansion
last year to the west coast,” said Jimmy Kirchdorfer, President of
ISCO Industries. “With our sales model of having face-to-face
sales people for our customers and a stocking location nearby,
this move is a win-win for everyone involved,” he said.
“This move is also a great base from which to expand our company
even more. Maskell has an excellent customer base, and their
experience and expertise, especially in the mining market,
represent considerable potential for us,” said Kirchdorfer.
Cynthia Zabriskie, former Salt Lake City Maskell Branch Manager,
and Golden Hatfield have become ISCO Regional Sales Managers for
Utah and the surrounding area. Joining them will be Denise Ernst,
named ISCO’s Regional Sales Manager for Arizona. She was Maskell’s
former Tucson Branch Manager.
“This acquisition nets us several quality workers in the sales and
technical areas – people who have worked hard to nurture great
customer relationships,” said Jimmy Kirchdorfer. “On the sales
side, Zabriskie, Hatfield and Ernst have over 30+ years of
combined HDPE experience. They will be a real asset for us in Utah
and Arizona,” he said.
ISCO is no stranger to the new team members.
“For the past two years I’ve watched ISCO’s steady growth and
influence in the HDPE market,” said Zabriskie. “In order for HDPE
to compete in this region of the country, a company totally
focused on HDPE was needed to step up to make an impact. ISCO is
that company,” she said.
“They are dedicated to face-to-face contact with their customers
and place service and satisfaction high on their priority list –
we’re proud to have found a new home where we know our customers
will benefit,” Zabriskie said.
ISCO Industries stocks and sells HDPE pipe, fittings and
fabrications for various industrial, municipal, environmental and
landfill applications throughout the United States. The company
also rents, services and sells McElroy fusion equipment. Along
with the addition of the new Salt Lake and Tuscon facilities, ISCO
has stocking locations in the states of Washington, California,
Michigan, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, Oklahoma,
Colorado, Texas, and the greater Chicago and St. Louis areas –
inventorying large stockpiles of pipe, usually within one day’s
delivery of most projects.
